“Godliness with contentment is great gain.” The same grace that saves the sinner, also sanctifies the sinner to make him holy. Until we love Him with all our hearts, we will never be content. Remember that of all the other contenders for our attention in life, no one else ever undeservingly died and then rose again to conquer the grave for us. He alone is worthy, and in Him alone is true contentment found. Godliness is not an option, but a must for the child of God. “You were created in Christ Jesus for good works that you should walk in them.” If God alone is good, then good works are godly works, and ordained for the life of every disciple of Christ. Remember this, live this, love Him and find true contentment in every circumstance.
