The Word of God is pure truth. When properly viewed we find no contradictions, with the only error discovered being what is in our own hearts. It is so beautiful to me that we are commanded to “work out our salvation with fear and trembling”, “hold fast to the truth”, “abide in Christ” and “take heed lest we drift away.” In addition to these truths we read, “I am in you”, “I will never forsake you”, “I will complete the work I begin in you”, “I will lose none of my sheep”, “you love me because I loved you first”, and “no created thing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus”. One side of this truth is a responsibility given to man to uphold and obey. The other side of this truth is a sovereign, holy God, without which everything else, including saving faith, is impossible.
