Is Christ at The Helm, or Are You?

Christ at the HelmRomans 7:18 “For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out.”

Amidst the many foes we have as Christians, there is one which packs a most potent punch and potential for losing spiritual ground; and it’s not Satan. The greater enemy I believe is the flesh, the side of you which naturally craves this world, and if depended upon will fail you every time.

Every Christian who is unconnected, un-serrendered, and out of touch with Christ’s Word, is losing the daily battle, and at the moment life seems to be without remedy.

So, here’s the remedy; get back in the battle with Christ at the helm, the Spirit of God in the sails, and His Word locked and loaded in your heart, so that you can stand against the temptation of drifting without aim.

Hebrews 2:1 “Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.”

1 John 2:14 “I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.”

Your flesh wants to drift with the current of the world, but that current is heading away from real life and freedom in Jesus. Only in constant communion with Him will you conquer the flesh, the devil, and every foe which rears it’s head against you, because Christ has already overcome the world.

Hebrews 6:9 “We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,”
