Psalm 115:3 “But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.”
Daniel 4:35 “All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, But He does according to His will in the host of heaven And among the inhabitants of earth; And no one can ward off His hand Or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’
There’s a greater and more decisive power at work in this world and it’s not the American government, the EU, the Global peace initiative or the Islamic State.
It’s the Holy Spirit of God. The Ancient of Days. Jehovah God.
No force of Hell can stop Him. No power can defeat Him. No nation’s choices can thwart His sovereign will.
Should we give up or whimper in fear or doubt Him now?
Not a chance, for we fight and we live and we move according to His love and prompting.
The Church, being in this unique time in history that we find ourselves should be excited more than ever.
The early Church thrived and grew without the cooperation of the government. It actually grew despite it. It thrived because of the power of the gospel and the prayers of those who trusted its purposes. The power of God worked in and through the Spirit-filled Church as they willingly laid down lives down, not in a world that catered to their “rights”, but in a world that sought to suppress them and persecute them.
Folks, these same conditions may very well be upon us again. If not now, then very soon. But that does not mean we give up hope. It means, instead, that we look for God to open our eyes to see what He is doing. We look to be what He wants us to be and we do it with joy on our faces. We do it as those who are the very chosen of God. We do it as those who have been promised the very power of Heaven as we witness the love of Jesus Christ to this lost world.
DO NOT LOSE HEART! You were never trusting in man to begin with. Were you?
Matthew 19:26 “And looking at them Jesus said to them, ‘With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'”
I am a husband, father of four, church planter and the pastor of New City Church in Bath, Maine. My desire for writing is that many would respond in love and faith towards God, and bring glory to Jesus.
