We Are Not a Christian Nation

A nation that kills babies is not a Christian nation!

A nation that oppresses the poor and abandons children to the system is not a Christian nation.

A nation that calls themselves Christian but does not believe the Bible to be the authoritative and perfect Word of God is not a Christian nation.

We are a lost.

We are unholy as a people.

Be Prepared

They call your good evil and declare that their evil deeds are good. Your truth, though founded on the ancient and unchanging Word of God, will be a laughing stock, and their “truth”, though based only upon relativism and humanism will be considered reasonable.

You will be hated, not only for loving Jesus, but for refusing to think like the world. It’s likely that opposing the government will be the end of many lives, as it was with many of our Church fathers. It will be asked of you, if not already; “Do you really believe all that foolishness?” They will mock you and say “You’re a narrow minded bigot!” “How can you say Jesus is the only way?”

What will we say then? Will we succumb to the pressure or will we stand in the strength of the Lord?

Beloved Christian, be prepared in this unholy land to stand against the torrents of injustice and unrighteousness! It is on the rise and will increase until Christ’s earthly  Kingdom is established. Then and only then will all be made new.

We Have Hope

Psalm 9:7 “But the LORD sits enthroned forever;
he has established his throne for justice,”

Psalm 9:10 “And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.”

That is our hope; that we seek the face of the one who does not forsake His people.

That is our hope, today, as we have heard another ruling of SCOTUS; a ruling that will harm innocent lives and continue to callous this culture against God. They are hungry for power at the expense the unborn, the marginalized and the poor; the very ones we are called to defend.

But God does not forget their cry.  He will avenge their blood!

Psalm 9:12 “For he who avenges blood is mindful of them;
he does not forget the cry of the afflicted.”

What Must We Do?

Let us, as the prophet declared in Micah 6:8, “Do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with our God.”

Do Justly

Do what is right in the eyes of the Lord. Be a part of bringing justice to the oppressed in our land by feeding the poor, caring for orphans and widows, and standing up for the rights of human dignity and life in the name of Jesus. The greatest justice we can do is to proclaim the blood of Christ to a sinful world. Our Lord, Jesus, was treated most unjustly of all so that in His death He might justify the ungodly who believe.

Love Mercy

God is mercy and His mercy endures forever. The people of God should be the most merciful because we have received forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ. We have found grace in the eyes of the Lord, though we are a people who deserve wrath like the rest of mankind. Let us love bestowing mercy upon others. Look for the weakest among us and pour out the love of God in great measure. “To whom much is given much is required.” (Luke 12:48) “He who is forgiven much, loves much.” (Luke 7:47)

Walk Humbly With God

Paul encouraged the Church of Galatia  to be watchful while seeking to restore the brother or sister who had fallen in sin. On a much larger scale, we are a nation in sin and in need of restoration. We are a Church in need of reformation by the Spirit of God. We need to be humble in this task. As we confront our neighbors, call upon our senators and are given the opportunity stand and speak truth, we need the humility of Christ. We are righteous by the merits of Jesus alone and faith in His name. We are susceptible to sin and foolishness like any other if we turn from the truth. Let’s walk circumspectly.

If a man would humble himself before the Lord, the Lord will lift Him up.

If a whole people would humble themselves before God and pray, God will restore that people and their land.

In Conclusion

Let our aim be humility and sincerity as we seek to restore hope to this nation through faith in God. May Jesus be worshiped as the all supreme and merciful God and Savior. Let us love without partiality and always seek to do what is right.

Yes, we live in an unholy nation, but if you trust in Christ, you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)

Psalm 9:19-20 “Arise, O LORD! Let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before you! Put them in fear, O LORD! Let the nations know that they are but men!”
